Completing my Bachelor of Agriculture Science degree in 1990, I worked with Golden Hope Plantations Berhad as an Agronomist, and then relocated to Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia in November 1993.
Since I moved to Petaling Jaya, did my Master of Philosophy degree, and subsequently joined WWF-Malaysia in 1996. I’ve been self-employed as an independent consultant since early 2007, working on projects and various contract gigs. I am an old hand at natural resource conservation, with a passion for forest conservation. More and more, my expertise is being drawn into other fields of work such as forest policy, forest plantations and the oil palm industry.
From 1996 through 2007, I worked for several projects on forest conservation, information and awareness, community development right through to empowering people just like you to achieve higher levels of fulfillment in key areas of life – including career, family, relationship, community work.
Between 2003 and 2008, I pursued my PhD in the field of cloud forest hydrometeorology. Spending couple of years up in the mountains gave a fresh perspective for me about life in the clouds.
At present, I work in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, Sarawak, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. I am also an active member of the Divine Life Society and have supported hundreds of people in their health goals through Hatha Yoga. I have supported many people in their personal growth by volunteering my time and services for AsiaWorks Training in Malaysia. I am married to Kavita Subramaniam with two lovely children (Sanjnah and Keshava) and now based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.
Besides my environment related interests, I keep busy with a healthy collection of activities including hatha yoga, meditation, trekking, and web-admin.
